THAT’S EXACTLY HOW I FEEL THESE DAYS …

I’m James Goodwin, the owner of Sports Turf Repair, a company dedicated to maintaining and repairing high-quality sports fields.

My passion for baseball started when I was three years old, growing up in California. That passion carried me through my playing career and even gave me the opportunity to be drafted by the Texas Rangers. Instead, I chose to pursue a college career at Biola University, where I played collegiate baseball and traveled the world, experiencing all kinds of fields and conditions. Those experiences shaped my appreciation for the quality of the fields athletes play on and planted the seeds for my future business.

My life took a turning point during my journey with Jesus. My faith grew deeper as I navigated the ups and downs of life, and it eventually led me to take a leap of faith and move to Memphis, Tennessee. What’s incredible is that my wife, Janay, who is also from California, moved to Memphis around the same time. God’s timing was perfect, and we met, fell in love, and got married here in Tennessee. Our shared faith and trust in God’s plan have been the foundation of our relationship and the life we’ve built together.

After moving to Memphis, I became the facility director of the largest full-size field turf complex in the state. It was the perfect fit for my background and love for high-quality sports fields. From there, I felt called to take another step forward, and I started Sports Turf Repair. I wanted to combine my knowledge of the game with my passion for helping athletes and organizations by providing top-tier turf maintenance and repair.

For me, this journey has been about faith, family, and purpose. I’m thankful for how God has led me every step of the way—from the baseball fields of California to building a life and business here in Tennessee with my amazing wife, Janay.
